Skincare routine #1

Hey everyone! I know it's been a little while since my last post, so I thought I would do something different. My skincare routine...

Boots cleansing cucumber wipes- these are 'okay' but I don't think they have as much moisture in them as some wipes do and they're not really wipes I could rely on but I only bought them because I was on a budget and didn't feel like spending £3 on one pack of wipes. So I won't be re-purchasing these.
I use my Neutrogena pink grapefruit daily scrub about 3 or 4 times a week and it does a really good job of keeping my skin spot free and smooth. And when I don't use a scrub I use my Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean cleanser just to cleanse my face and to remove any traces of makeup left on my skin, ''it purifies! can energize and melts away makeup!'' and I find it also makes my skin look glowing and healthy.
Along with my Neutrogena face scrub, I also have the oil-free moisturiser to match. As I get oily skin easily this is a fantastic product for me, it freshens up my skin and doesn't dry it out.
Lush Tea Tree water toner, this also contains pink grapefruit water (see a little pattern going on here?) to use this I just spritz it on a cotton pad and wipe it all over my face but you can also just spray it directly onto your face. And to help those dark circles under my eyes I use the simple revitalising eye roll on which i think works pretty well actually but there's not really a whole lot to say about it. And of course I use a spot cream because my skin isn't perfect at the best of times so I use skinology intensive spot cream which is the cheapest spot cream I have ever come across....98p yes you read that correctly 98 pence and I haven't found it too bad either so you may want to check this out...
And finally Lush bubble lip scrub, it's been a favourite of mine for a long time now but it is still part of my skincare routine and is especially helpful for the cold winter months when your lips are feeling dryer than usual.

November Favourites

Hi everyone! How is it December already, I can't wait till Christmas! Anyway on with the favourites..

Garnier Soothing Body Lotion (Calming Honey) £2.99 from Boots
This is the moisturiser I have been using for the past couple of months now, as I realised I had too many body butters/lotions and decided to use them all up. When I first bought this it had only just been released and I saw people were liking it so I thought I'd give it a go, well I bought it and used it a few times but since then its never seen daylight. But I'm really glad I decided to buy this because it does and amazing job of moisturising. On the front it claims ''skin feels intensely hydrated for up to 7 days*'' (after twice daily application for up to 4 weeks) I wouldn't agree with that statement though even though I only use this once every 2 days however it is a good moisturiser and works well.

Clarins Gloss Prodige (Candy 04) £15.50 (for full size) from Boots
I got this from the 'All About Lips' gift set when it first arrived in Boots and at first I thought it was just going to be a usual lipgloss and nothing much exciting about it. How wrong was I? Well...
The moment this touches your lips it immediately soothes and softens them, it feels like heaven on your lips and looks gorgeous too. This colour is perfect for the Autumn/Winter season and I think is a must-have. It would make a great Christmas present for any beauty junkies you know out there.

L'Oreal Heat Protect Styling Spray (straight) £5.99 from Boots
This stuff smells gorgeous! And also does a fantastic job of protecting your hair from the heat, because to me, one of the worst things ever is having heat-damaged hair. I think its quite pricey though considering your only getting 170ml but I got this when it was on offer for £3.99 so its not too bad. Its lightweight and doesn't feel sticky and after using this it makes my hair feel soft and luxurious.

17 Dazzle The Night Shimmer Rocks £4.99 (sorry couldn't find them on a website so I can't leave a link)
When I spotted these in Boots I stopped and was like 'omg I need those!' (yes I get very excited when I find out new products have been brought out).
Anyway..These shimmer rocks are beautiful and will work well on pretty much any skin colour too. I have quite pale skin but they still look fabulous. Basically there are two types of the rocks (a pink and a white) the white are very shimmery and the pink ones are more natural. I just dab my brush into the container and sweep it over the tops of my cheekbones. It looks great and I just can't stop using these.

Newlook Spike Bracelet £3.50 (sorry I couldn't find it on the website so I couldn't leave a link)
Well there isn't really much I can say about this apart from 'I've really loved wearing this and will carry on doing so'

Songs I've been listening to:
Bruno Mars- Locked Out Of Heaven
Alicia Keys- Girl On Fire
Mariah Carey- All I Want For Christmas

Bye!

Get to know me!

I saw this on a couple of peoples blogs, and seen as you guys don't really know me that well, I thought I would give it a go!

1.Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is mainly straight but its beginning to get a few waves here and there.

2.What is your natural hair colour?
It used to be a very fair blonde colour when I was younger, but its now more of a light blonde/brown.

3.Do you die it yourself or go to a salon?
Well I dont dye my hair but if was going to then I would probably go to a salon, but if I was going to dip-dye my hair then, I would probably do it myself.

4.How often do you wash your hair?
Three times a week.

5.Do you wear the same style everyday or change it?
I usually have my hair straight but I sometimes do curl at the ends.

6.Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?
I do it myself, but would treat myself occasionally.

7.How often do you change your nail polish?
I'm not allowed to wear nail polish for school, so at the moment its once a week. But when I'm off, I change it every two or three days.

8.Do you polish your toes in the winter too, or just summer?
I don't paint my toes much really, but yes I will paint them all year round.

9.How long does it take you put your makeup on?
Around 15/20 minutes but more like 30 minutes if its a special occasion.

10.What do you do first? Face or eyes?
Always face!

11.Do you collect makeup or just buy it when you need it?
I collect it, I don't think I'd be able to stick to just buying things when I need them!

12.How often do you wear false eyelashes?
I never wear them but possibly for a special occasion.

13.Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
No, only at weekends!

14.Do you wear makeup when you are home alone (or with family)?
No.

15.Will you leave the house without makeup?
Not at the weekends!

16.How many high-end products do you have?
Too many!

17.How often do you wash your makeup brushes?
Once a month, because I only wear makeup at the weekends so they don't need washing too often.

18.Do you plan your OOTD every night, or decide when I am getting dressed?
I usually just decide when I'm getting dressed, but if I'm going out somewhere special then I usually do plan it out the night before.

19.How often do you change your handbag?
Not that often really, probably about once a month.

20.What time do you get up and go to sleep?
On school days I get up at 7:40 am and at the weekends, usually about 9:00 am. And I usually go to bed between 11:00-1:00 pm.

21.How often and when do you work out?
Never really, I wish I was more active though.

22.Left-handed or right-handed?
Right-handed.

23.How tall are you?
I don't know for sure, but I think I'm around 6ft5.

24.Do you speak a foreign language?
I speak a little french and spanish.

25.How many pets do you have?
4 fish, but they are shared between me and my sister.

26.How often are you on blogger?
Not too often really but I'm trying to post more. But I am addicted to YouTube!

27.Do you read the comments posted blogs?
Yes!

28.Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
Most of the time yes!

29.How did you come up with your blog name?
I just racked my brains but I knew I wanted the word beauty in it.

30.What kind of camera do you use for photographs?
I just my iphone or samsung galaxy note camera.

31.How often do you clean your house?
Well I don't own my own home, but I clean my room about once a month if I can be bothered!

32.What is your favourite colour?
Hmmm this is a hard one as I love soo many colours but I particularly like lilac.

33.What is you favourite beauty/fashion magazine?
I love soo many but one in particular I always enjoy is Company.

34.Do you swear?
Not much.

35.What are you doing with the rest of your day?
Well...its 11:22 pm so I'm straight off to bed once I've finished this! :o

New L'Oreal Matt and Messy | Review

Hi everyone, so as I was wandering around Boots I came across this beauty...
With L'Oreal being such a trusted brand and one I know I can rely on, I thought I would try their new sea-salt spray from their studio line and at a reasonable £3.56 I simply couldn't resist. I've been wanting to try a sea-salt spray for a while now but I've never really seen many in stores, so when this came out I thought it was the perfect chance to try one out. This claims ''shine free tousled look'' which when I tried it, it did seem to do. However I think I need more time to experiment with it and find a way which works best for me so I will update you on that later.

The bottle contains 150ml and it is in a rather cute round bottle, making it easier to hold however the bottle shape could annoy people and this could be tricky for packing into small bags.
The instructions say to spray onto damp or dry hair and ruffle with your fingers to give an instantly textured effect. And if you wanted tousled waves to define sections and twist you hair using your fingers.
It says it adds extra lift and definition without weighing down or making hair greasy.
For some reason I thought this would smell slightly salty but I was surprised by the fresh clean scent it leaves in your hair.
So far I am really enjoying this product will you be trying it too?

Or have you tried anything from the rest of their Matt and Messy range?

Thanks for stopping by!

October Favourites

Hi everyone, here are some things I have been loving this month!

Happy (late) Halloween!

Collection 2000 sheer loose powder (shade 1- Barely There)- £2.99 from Boots
I have really been enjoying loose powder recently, as I usually use pressed powder but I fancied a change, and decided to try this one. And I'm glad I did! It sets my makeup perfectly without it making me look cakey and its also great to use on its own as it has decent coverage. For £2.99 this is a BARGAIN and if you are looking for a loose powder, I recommend you try this one.
Collection 2000 Super Size Fat Lash Mascara (Shade 01- Ultra Black) £2.99 from Boots
It makes you lashes look thick and healthy and you dont need to apply hundreds of coats to build it up either! For only £2.99 its worth trying it out.
Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer (Shade- Light 2) £4.19 from Boots
(sorry for the disgusting packaging) I use this concealer under my eyes to help brighten and conceal my dark circles. It is easy to blend into my skin without it looking cakey and has pretty good coverage and staying power too. Some people can be put off with drugstore concealers because they presume they'll be awful but this one definitely deserves a chance.
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector (Shade-01 Rose Shimmer) mini size from Clarins Christmas gift set available at Boots.
This is so easy to wear and apply, you just literally squeeze the tube until the product oozes out and apply it to your lips. It looks very natural and makes your lips feel soft and lovely. It also smells of vanilla...delicious.
Benefit Highbeam (free from Glamour magazine) full size available at Boots.
I love highlighters and this is one of my favourites, its frosty pink colour is perfect for highlighting the tops of your cheekbones and can transform your look in seconds. When I run out of this baby I probably will buy the full size even though its a little pricey (£18.50!).
Revlon Colourstay eyeshadow quad (Shade 505 Decadent) £7.99 from Boots
This is the perfect quad for me, the colours are so pretty and go well together. If you were going on holiday and could only take a certain amount of makeup (eeeek) then I would take this as it has a perfect base, highlight, crease and blending colour. For £7.99 this is a bargain and I will so be buying this again.

So thats it for my October Favourites, sorry its a little late, but I've found it so hard to get good lighting to take decent pictures.
Thanks for stopping by!

September Favourites

Hi everyone, September has gone by sooo fast! I cannot believe it's October already!
So lets get started;
Real Techniques Buffing Brush (part of the Core Collection)
I absolutely LOVE this brush! Its just the right size for buffing your foundation in, and its not too dense either so its easy to use without having to use too much pressure. I love how well it blends your foundation in makes your foundation look natural.
Benefit Creaseless cream eyeshadow/liner (R.S.V.P)
The colour is very natural and also makes a good base for other eyeshadows, but I have found that when I use another eyeshadow on top it does tend to crease, but on it's own it doesn't crease at all. I like to apply this with my finger because it warms the product up and makes it even more creamier but if you wanted to use a brush then you could. I also love the smell, I can't describe it but if are passing the Benefit Counter, just have a whiff of this and you will know for yourself!
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder
I really enjoy using this because it has little bits of shimmer in it, which i love because i dont like to look too matte! I do have oily skin and it really does work well. Some people say that he packaging is a little cheap looking but as long as the product is good then it dosent really matter to me.
Benefit Powda Wowza (christmas set)
This set contains: Hoola, Coralista and Bella Bamba but the one I've been really loving is Coralista. I love how it kinda highlights your skin as well as adding colour to it, its a really nice colour for me to use because iI have quite fair skin I dont like to go overboard on blush but this colour is perfect! It smells amazing too!
Clinique dramatically different moisturising lotion (mini size)
You're probably thinking why do I have a moisturiser for dry-dry combination skin, when I have oily skin, well I was given this and I didnt actually realise that this for dry skin until I was about half way through the month, but this dosent actually make my skin any more oily than it should be (which is good). The only thing with this product is the price (£16.50) I'm not sure weather I would really like to pay that for a moisturiser when I know I could get a perfectly good one for less.
The body shop born lippy (strawberry)
As you can see from the picture I have used this a lot, I mean this is just your average lip balm, it keeps my lips moisturised, it dosent sit on top of my lips (like some do) and isnt too sticky either. This is only £2 so if you buy it and dont like it, it dosent really matter but I have been loving this lip balm this month.

Thanks for reading bye!

Louise Grey Topshop makeup

Hi everyone, while I was browsing topshop's website I noticed
that Louise Grey had teamed up with them to create a new makeup collection! Personally I have never heard of her before but her collection looks great and very colourful.

The collection is very bright and bold and you would have to be very adventurous to wear some of the products! But even though I'm not too adventurous I have still managed to find a few things I like:
Cheek Duo in Up In The Air By Louise Gray          Nails in Pinch Punch By Louise Gray
cheek duo in up in the air-£12.50, nail polish in pink punch-£6.50.

Have you seen anything you like from the new collection?

Haul...

Hi everyone, so yes I've been shopping (Whoops!) and I thought I'd show you what I picked up.
Poundland:
I got the chit chat juicy lipstick in peony, I noticed this looked similar to the revlon just bitten kissable balm stains so I thought I'd pick this up to test out before I go ahead and buy the revlon one. Then I got the chit chat gel eyeliner (which came with a mini brush) and this is just a very basic gel eyeliner I was going to get the maybelline or collection 2000 one but I decided to get this one to just try out, and obviously these were both £1 each. (swatches below)
Superdrug:
I got the Revlon lip butter in berry smoothie (HURRAY!) I've been wanting a lip butter ever since they came out in the UK but never had a chance to buy one so I am super happy I picked this up. I also got the collection 2000 lock 'n' hold lipgloss in 4 break dance, this is a lovely coral colour and has great pigmentation too I actually wore this one today and have loved it, it also has a bendy sort of applicator too which does make it stand out from other lipgloss's. (swatches below)
Boots:
natural collection eyeshadow in milk chocolate which is a lovely light matte brown colour which was £1.79, natural collection moisture shine lipstick in rose bud £1.99, benefit crease less cream eyeshadow/liner in r.s.v.p £14.00.
and last but not least I got the Real Techniques core collection and starter kit. I didn't originally go out to buy these but when I saw that they were buy one get the other half price on all Real Techniques brushes I just had to pick them up. So with getting one set half price I saved £11!! The brushes are really really soft and I will do a review on these when I've had chance to try them all out.
Swatches:
From top to bottom: revlon lip butter (berry smoothie), collection 2000 lipgloss (4 break dance), chit chat juicy lipstick (peony), natural collection lipstick (rose bud), benefit eyeshadow (r.s.v.p).
From left to right: natural collection eyeshadow (milk chocolate), chit chat gel eyeliner (black, applied with brush).
Thanks for stopping by!
xoxo
